Altrincham’s next two league games have been called off after “several” members of the first-team squad tested positive for coronavirus.

A round of testing was undertaken at the club after manager Phil Parkinson and defender Shaun Densmore missed Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Eastleigh after discovering that someone in their circle had been infected with the virus.

The club said that “several” positive results were returned, and after conversations with the Vanarama National League, tonight’s game with Solihull and Saturday’s against Bromley, both at home, should be postponed.

The Robins say they hope to return to action in tie for FA Cup action on Saturday October 24th, something club doctor Rob Jackson says is “entirely feasible”.

Any individual testing positive must self-isolate for a period of 10 days from the time that symptoms first showed.

The club says it has advised the rest of the first-team squad to self-isolate for 14 days, in line with government guidelines, a period which ends on October 21st.

Anyone who paid to watch live streams of the next two games on Alty TV will be refunded in full.
