The Altrincham Garrick season begins tomorrow in the Lauriston Studio with a vulgar but deeply moving play named Playhouse Creatures by April De Angelis.
The show opens on Wednesday 29th August and runs until Tuesday 4th September, without a show on Sunday.
The bawdy and earthy ensemble piece looks at some of the first ladies ever to grace the English stage including Nell Gwyn, a 17th Century mistress of King Charles II. The characters slip into various theatrical roles whilst gossiping about their somewhat fragile and often cruel place in a male world.
The play will be performed in the award-winning Lauriston Studio, a smaller theatre which allows visitors to experience the intimacy of the performance.
Tickets, £10 each or £9 if you’re a member, are now available by calling the box office on 0161 928 1677, Option 1, or you can book online here.
