Local co-working hub altspace has agreed a partnership deal with IWG, the world's leading provider of flexible workspace.

altspace has operated from Kennedy House on Stamford Street since 2018, when it moved from its original home on Stamford New Road, and has enjoyed success as the desire for flexible working has grown in the wake of the pandemic.

Steve Upham, altspace's founder, has now secured a deal via a franchise agreement to rebrand the space under IWG's HQ brand.

altspace has grown to occupy more than half of Kennedy House, and currently has 18 co-working desks and seven private offices.

Upham told Altrincham Today that it was business as usual but that the partnership will give him more security and more value for his clients, such as access to IWG's network of HQ offices around the country.

Kennedy House represents IWG's second location after it took on Lynnfield House on Church Street in 2022, this time under its Regus brand.

IWG said the hybrid working market was experiencing "explosive" growth, and said it was predicted that 30% of all commercial real estate would be flexible workspace by 2030.

Mark Dixon, CEO & Founder of IWG, added: “This new location, our second in Altrincham, will meet the rising demand in the area and desire of residents to work closer to home, in the heart of their local community.

“Our opening in Altrincham comes at a time when more and more companies are discovering that flexible working boosts employee happiness and satisfaction, while helping the environment."
